My Daily Skincare Routine

My skin is Sensitive and combo/oily skin. It is very acne prone, so I'm still dealing with that. Until i find a miracle product I'm using the Clinique 3 Step System which does a fairly good job.I am the 3rd one in the pink bottle and the gel form of the moisturizer. I also exfoliate 2x a week and do a mask 1x a week. I really enjoy kate somerville products but they come with a hefty price tag, so as soon as i finish my Clinique products, which is almost done, ill try those. Also I've been wanting to try liz earle and sensai kanebo. But for now I'll do with what i have. Heres how it goes.

Sunday: Morning- Freeman's Apricot Scrub, Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.
Night- Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.

Monday: Morning- Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.
Night- Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.

Tuesday: Morning- Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.
Night- Queen Helene Mask, Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.

Wednesday: Morning- Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.
Night- Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize

Thursday: Morning- Freeman's Apricot Scrub, Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.
Night- Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.

Friday: Morning- Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize.
Night- Face Wash, Toner, Moisturize

Now on Saturday's I usually let my skin rest because i don't believe in over washing my face, so one day a week it gets a break.
You can add in an eye cream if you please, i choose not to. I hope this helps, any questions you know my info.

MAC Studio Finish Concealer Review

So a couple of months ago I bought the MAC Studio Finish Concealer and was in love with it, until I used it. I love MAC, I think their products are great and great quality but this particular product wasn't.Heres the rundown. When i went to put on the product I noticed it was super creamy which is good but when i started to blend it onto my skin it got cakey. It didn't look natural jut blotchy. i applied it on the spots that needed coverage and started to blend and then moved on to the next blemish but when i was done and looked at the previous ones that i had just covered up, i saw that it was starting to get flaky on me. so i naturally tried to fix it. First i tried blending it more and that only made it worse because it started to flake even more. then i tried putting moisturizer on it and that just made it horrible and messy. If this product didn't dry up my skin then i would love it because it has the perfect coverage. when i put this on, you can barely see any blemishes. The price can be a problem. I dont mind paying $20-$30 for a holy grail concealer but this is not a holy grail product. At $20 the tiny concealer is pricey. Now $20 doesn't sound crazy expensive but you have to take into consideration that this is a really small product and you dont get a lot of bang for your buck. So overall *Pros: creamy, flawless coverage. *Cons: price, super drying. I think i would repurchase this product because of the coverage i get with it. I would just make sure to wear it more on the summer months then the winter months. So overall I give this product a B+

The Perfect Face

Got bad skin, Well join the club. I've got terrible skin and until it clears up I've got to cover it up. The goal is to hide the bad parts of your skin and show the good parts. Well I've found the perfect solution on how to do that. This method only requires a couple of items and very little time. Now for the summer/spring I don't like heavy coverage so i don't use foundation. I find that foundation takes a while to put on and has to be touched up in middle of the day. I also don't like that when someone touches your face they can make a dent in it because of the amount of foundation you put on. You don't want to go in the pool and have everything just melt off. foundation is more for special events like parties etc. So now that we got our facts straight lets get started.

1. You want to prime your face. Now I don't use a foundation primer because i don't feel it's necessary. Rather a moisturizer is more appropriate. I apply a nickel size amount of moisturizer on my fingertips and dot it all over my face, then i just rub and blend in the skin. I use clinique's dramatically different moisturizing gel for normal to oily skin. This moisturizer is great for oily skin ,it doesn't leave any stickiness and controls oil all thorough out the day. You can get this at any department store or get a package of the 3 step program. The 3 step program is basically a Cleanser for the face, a toner and a moisturizer. I got number 3, it's the pink toner and theres 4 of them 1.dry 2. dry-normal 3. oily-normal 4.oily. Each one comes with a moisturizer. If you have dry skin i recommend a Kate somerville moisturizer or the number one or two of the clinique 3 step program. A cheaper alternative is any aveeno one or a cetaphil one. Their both great.

2. The next step is concealer. You want to conceal your blemishes with a concealer. I use a mac studio finish concealer in NC20, NC is to cancel out redness and NW is more to just cover blemishes. I use my fingers because the hear from your hands makes it more pliable. I dot it around my nose (because that gets red throughout the day), underneath my eyes ( you can use a different type of concealer for underneath the eyes but i just use the same one), any zits, blemishes etc. Then just taking my finger i gently pat and blend it into my skin. Make sure you get your exact shade. Also get one for summer and one for winter because your pigmentation changes.

3. After you have applied your concealer your gonna want to either put on your foundation if you prefer that route, i personally don't so I just skip that step and go straight to the setting powder. This will absorb any oil you have on your face and will set your concealer/foundation. I use the MAC select sheer/pressed powder in NW20. If you have a more yellowish skin tone you'll get NC, if you have more of a pinkish skin tone then you'll get a NW shade. I really like this powder because it gives the perfect finish, covergirl is also good, Use your favorite brand. Then I take a brush, for this i just take my powder brush, you can use a MAC brush or any brush you have. I'm using a great powder brush by apt 5 and it is amazing, I think that it's better then the MAC powder brush but that's just personal preference . I take the brush and sweep it in the powder and then i just buff it in my skin in circular motions, feel free to use a kabuki brush if needed. Make sure not too apply too much or you'll look cakey and you want to look natural not cakey. I sweep my brush in the powder maybe 3-4 times no more. After you finish applying the powder your done. Then goes eye make up, blush, bronzer, lipstick etc. I hope this helped and if you have questions or comments, comment back.

WELCOME

Hello everybody
This is my new blog, i have another one but that is non beauty related. If you wanna check it out it's GorskyNarmina.blogspot.com , but this blog is about beauty related stuff. Just my opinion on what works and what doesn't. I know when i go into a store i'm so overwhelmed by all the products that i don't know what's good and what's not. So after testing out products and seeing what works and what's just down right awful i feel that i can help you with the everyday struggle of enchasing your beauty but not overpowering it. Im not a professional just a girl who loves to play around with her looks. I feel that makeup should enhance your natural looks because every woman is beautiful, i know a lot of the time we don't see it and get so frustrated but everybody has good days and everyone has bad days. That doesn't change the fact that your still beautiful. No matter what color, shape, size or ethnic culture you are, you are still beautiful. Some products wil enhance this beauty and some will only flaunt your weaknesses so it's key to know which ones do that and how to apply that information and make it work for you. It's not enough to just know that a brand is good, you have to know how to use it. I believe that it should never take away from you, not over power you. It's like when you go to buy a wedding dress, you dont want it to over power you because people will be looking at your dress and not at you and you don't want that. Remember never cover up your features, dont put a whoe lot of black eyeshadow to those gorgeous blue eyes, more of a neutrals shade will be better, or once in a while do a fun make up look but never take away only enhance, thats key. This just my opinion if you feel you have a better technique then feel free to comment and maybe we can all learn something. Enjoy.
